Working in the Blueberries

Time is short this morning.  I'm off to Stacey's to watch the babies for a few hours while she rest and gets out of the house for a while.  But, I wanted to share these pictures of working in the blueberry patch yesterday.  I cleaned out all last years grass and weeds then fertilized and mulched.  The mulch I used was cattle feed sacks without printing on them and wood shavings that I talked the tree trimmer guys to dump when they came to clean the trees from the power lines. I love using free stuff!!  Now, Steve and I have just need to cut the trees from the cattle lot, just to the east, so the bushes can get more sun.

I also planted broccoli and cabbage plants to replace the ones the chickens ate after I put the first ones in a couple of weeks ago.  And, planted swiss chard and cosmos.

Lilacs are blooming!
